Just want to make sure all of you Obama supporters know what you've been condoning ..

... with your silence ...

U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan have killed far more people than the United States has acknowledged, have traumatized innocent residents and largely been ineffective, according to a new study released Tuesday.

The study by Stanford Law School and New York University's School of Law calls for a re-evaluation of the practice, saying the number of "high-level" targets killed as a percentage of total casualties is extremely low -- about 2%.

The report accuses Washington of misrepresenting drone strikes as "a surgically precise and effective tool that makes the U.S. safer," saying that in reality, "there is significant evidence that U.S. drone strikes have injured and killed civilians."

It also casts doubts on Washington's claims that drone strikes produce zero to few civilian casualties and alleges that the United States makes "efforts to shield the drone program from democratic accountability."
Apparently free birth control is more important than this ...

And for all you Romney supporters ... this is what you will be supporting.

Part of the problem for people like me is that there is no candidate who could be trusted to do any different. So I think the issue isn't that people condone the drones as much as they have no believable option behind which to place their support. I'm speaking a little out of turn here because I'm not actually an Obama supporter. But I do wish the anti-Obama side would focus their efforts on his real faults (wars, Wall Street coddling, etc.), but instead all we hear are these fantastical conspiracies about Obama being a socialist and appeaser. When normal, everyday working Americans wake up, stop taking the bait to hate one another, and rally behind a candidate who eschews corporate funding of their campaign/party, and then (and only then) is able to put the interests of work-a-day Americans above "free-trade", militaristic, global slave-exploiting, consumeristic corporatism, I'll be among them. But for now, it's all a show (though I do give credit to Obama for making sure that gays are given as much right to remotely pilot murderous drones as are straight people).

Drones = cheap.

accurate or not, we might as well get used to it and accept that this is the future of aerial war fare.

Frankly, I'm way past caring whether whichever sitting president is smoking terrorists. I'm for the guy that understands economics, the Constitution and Liberty. Romney ain't the answer but he's a country mile way past what we have now. It's gonna take baby steps to get this bloated Gov't under control and it needs to start with putting some serious brake action on the sinister crap the big O's been shoving down the American people's throat.

Get Obama on a permanent vacation and in 2016 maybe we can go with someone like that Gary Johnson guy. In the meantime run the thug-in-chief out of town on rails.

You guys on the Left worry way too much about what's going on overseas. That's not the problem you should be concerned about at this point. If everything is a huge car wreck over here (which it is right now) there is NO WAY you can do anything to help someone else.

I see that a lot from the Left. Fret over some silly crap happening halfway around the world while you watch your own family live in crap. Is that some sort of "out of sight, out of mind" thing?

When my family's future is secure and I know my kids and grandkids have a fighting chance at a reasonably bright future then I'll worry about some third world hell hole.

Lest you think this is unduly harsh, tell me how you are going to make a difference in the Middle East, or anywhere else for that matter while your own family lives in squalor?

Here's one of the ways you guys fail so badly: Do you honestly think that those Second Century AD citizens give one tiny little tinker's damn about you? Do you honestly think they are more concerned about any single one of you than they are about where they'll get their next meal..........or victim for their Jihad? Most of the people you wring your little, soft hands over would cut your throat just for the amusement.

It's not just drones or Obama supporters - there were a lot more innocent civilian casualties caused by the Iraq war. It's the hawks on all sides that perpetuate the middle east conflicts who are responsible.

So, if you want to place blame for `collateral killings', you need to spread your net a lot wider.

Ron Paul had some ideas right. Indiscriminate killing is a bad thing in my book.

Are we safer? Maybe a little. Are we hated more creating more enemies? Probably.

And in a way I'm agreeing with you.

We need to get our house in order. Get the borders secure. Stop stip-searching 4 year old's and Grandma. Screw hurt feelings. Lay waste to Mexican and points-south drug dealers. Get over the politically correct BS and use common sense.

Once we get back on top, get people working, get this country back to what it once was and can be again then maybe, just maybe we can extend a helping hand to others.

Agreed.... so how do you continue to support this President? If you are going to exercise your right to vote, why not use it in a way that let's you sleep better. I know you're not going to vote Libertarian ... but there's the Green Party ... they are as anti war as us Libertarians, but also share many of the same social economic values as you.

Of course, while you vote with your conscious (this time around) you support Obama getting another term. If/when he gets back in your Libertarian protest will amount to zip, zilch, nada. He'll be laughing in your face.

I don't mean that as a cut on Libertarians. I'm 95% with you Logan but this election is about the lesser of two evils. Romney ain't the answer but Obama is absolutely the virus and all of the lofty ideals won't change the fact that you only have two choices right now in 2012.

I have huge problems with Ron Paul, but he is immeasurably better on militarism than either of the two remaining candidates.
