Sebart Mythos 125e pattern plane

This will be one of Blakes pattern stable-Mythos 125e. Recommended 6s setup sounds nice for non windy conditions but an 8s setup would be preferable for competition. Never fails-contest day is good for 20mph winds(at least!). Blake already found out the hard way a 6s setup on a windy contest day is a recipe for a smoked ESC. Taking that into consideration, got Ken @ Subsonicplanes.com to wind a Motrofly 5320-277kv to swing up to a 20.5" x 14" (if need be) on 8s. Motor came in @ 19.2oz and the bolt pattern matches the existing firewall T-nuts. Immaculate work on the windings. Nice wire diameter and spacing. Also got upgraded set of ceramic bearings. Sweeet! Can use the Jeti Spin 99 Pro for downline braking. Using some light 25c 4500mah packs should keep the weight about the same as a 6s 5000 (65c) pack. Our buddy Bill reports 8min flights on his 8s Wind 110 using 3850mah 8s packs. So this setup should keep it within the recommended weight and still have tons of power. Blake reported that Bills' setup has plenty of power and everything comes down cool to the touch. Blake will also use JR 3711HV's and some as yet undetermined HV rudder servo. Should be a sweet setup with no reg's and switches to fail. Keeps the weight down too. Will post more pics and some vid as soon as it's available.

EDIT: Takes 1/2" standoffs and 2 nylon washers to space motor properly. Sweet! Bolts right up. This motor is also a candidate for Blakes Delro Opium. Need to drop to KV to 225 or so and it should swing a 21 x 14 pattern prop on 10s and keep it lighter than most F3A motors.

Initial run up numbers on 8s 4500mah 40c packs and a APC 20 x 12 e-prop was about 2700 watts @ 89 amps-Suweeeet! Perfect. Plenty of pull. Should get some flights in the next couple of days. No replacement for displacement!

Correction to the numbers on the last post. 76amps on the Gemfan 19 x 12. 89 amps was the APC 20 x 12. Blake got to maiden the Mythos today. BORRRINNNGGG!!! No trim needed. Flies suweeeet! Will try a 20 x 12 Gemfan next. 5 min. flight took out around 1700mah out of the packs. Motor was ambient temp. Packs were barely warm. Braking on the OS 100amp ESC was superb. Very smooth ride. Slight tuck to the gear, but some slight CG work is in order first. 8s setup is right on. Presents just like a 2m ship. Blake says the airframe feels draggy(in a good way). After bumping the power up slightly with the new prop it should be perfect. Might have to drop the break strength down to 15% or so. What a PLANE!!! Will get some more pics and vids when possible. AUW is 9.8lbs

New prop setup-Xoar 20 x 13, OS 100amp ESC. Great breaking feature on the OS ESC. Toned the top end of the throttle range down! Hitting about 2900 watts WOT. More than enough power for this slightly draggy airframe. Plenty of vertical. Sweet!
