What's your wingspan? For any aircraft, my personal rule of thumb is 10g/dm^2 per meter of wing = light. So a 2m sailplane should have a wing loading of 20g/dm^2 while a 10 inch indoor floater should have a wing loading of 2.5g/dm^2 (approx 25cm).

Your wing is roughly 64 g/dm^2 so it's light for a 6.4m wing, medium for a 3m wing and heavy for a 1m wing.

It's a 1.1m span, 24dm2 area, 1400-1500 gr depending on finishing method.

Fuselage with retract and motor mount fitted.

Still fiddling with the bay door, not yet satisfied ..., too fragile, need to make it more solid: it will be catching a deal of air..

One point I've picked up while reading on here is the effect the retract will have on the cg.It's going to move it back when deployed,you'll need to work a way round that for take of and landing.

Yes indeed !
The wheel itself is not heavy, I calculated that when the retract is out (landing) the cog will shift backwards with 5mm: should be acceptable!?

Should be also good for taking off: less nose heavy.

Today busy re-making the front gear door thingy.

Connected the 2 hinges for torsional stiffness.

Finally managed to make a video footage !

The take off,and particularly landing,are going to put a lot of stress on the gear mounting.
If you haven't already,can you find a way to tie this area into the central spine.

I'ts glued onto the central rib, which is reinfored with 2 metal strips.
Let's hope this is enough

Hi there,

finished the fuselage today.

Motor and ESC locked in place, both catching a good deal of air for good cooling.

Next step will be the fences, the winglets, painting, ...

Very nice.Bit of a cliche,but it's a shame to cover that neat woodwork

Fences ready, located at about 1/2 and 2/3 of half wing span.

First one aligned with flap/aileron split.

Fences higher compared to the 2 fences on the FZ3-PT, in order to be sure they have a functional fence effect.
