Nice work on the planking!
You may find it easier to bend the sheeting over the l/e if you make the sheeting run parallel to the wing out line and have a tapered fillet between them. The first pic is a sheet I made up for the plank, you can see what I mean better on the other one.

Hey, that's a nice tip!
This time i had no problems with the bending, as the balsa is only 1mm thick.
I indeed had some difficulties with the FZ2 planking back then.

Any tips for covering my wing?
My first idea was to glass it with 25gr/m2, but this will add another 100grams to it. Since i'm aiming at 12.5 oz/ft3 cubic wing loading, i'm turning towards blue transparant oracover. Lighter and leaves the wood grain visible ....

My power setup is a 6cell, het rc 2w-30, 80amp: good for 1800gr push for 1450gr plane.

I'm probably not the best to ask about covering,a tissue and dope kinda guy
If nobody else comes in on here, post a Q on balsa builders and/ or builders workshop.I'm sure they'll have lots of advice to offer.

FZ3 build: Flaps and Ailerons

The flaps and ailerons took longer than I thought.
The horns, which I made for the first time out of wood, in order to keep the top face of the wing clean, took a while !

All in all, pretty happy with the result.

The bottom gap/split is only 1mm, my best yet.

A drop of thin c/a in the holes will harden the ply, reduce any chance of wear.

Beautiful bird; it's a flying wing, made of wood, and it can ROG (I love the way you integrated the tips as landing gear)!

Which holes do you mean, the control wire holes?

Another question, the plane is getting heavier than i first calculated.
Therefore, i need your opinions here: is a flying wing of 13.2 oz/ft3 cubic wing loading and 21 oz/ft2 wing loading, considered as a heavy wing, normal wing or in between ?

I still have one choice here, or epoxy sheeting and painting for superior finish adding 120-150gr (resulting in 13,2 cubic) or oracovering good for 24 gr (resulting in 12,2cubic)

Power/weight ratio is 1.17.
