Flying sphere

Not really a multirotor but still VTOL.

Anyone tried building one of these japanese flying spheres
Spherical Flying Machine Developed by Japan Ministry Of Defense #DigInfo (2 min 45 sec)

Seems that there are four control surfaces and gyroscopic effect is suppressed easily. A petrol powered one would be perfect for a camera-type payload.

I would really like to know if there is a way of converting a Multirotor control board (like the FF board) to get it to control the four control sufaces?

The balldrone is completely different and has some interesting self stabilising features and method of control.

I agree it is overly complicated and way to expensive for most of the readers of this forum. Mine cost $120 dollars and i was able to use the beach ball in the pool after the build. So i ask you would you rather spend thousands of dollars and hang out with Japanese men in suits or a hundred or so dollars and watch bikini clad girls play with a beach ball.
