Chuck did not make the comment. If you ain't going to go there Matt, then you should keep the side comments out. If you got a problem with what I said, be a man and tell me. Otherwise, why make a jab in the first place?

Just thinking about this, Matt if it is me, lets take it offline. Otherwise lets return this topic back to Type XXIII and the builds people are doing.
Peace,
tom

Thought I'd get this back OT. I'm taking the liberty to post a few shots David sent me of today's work. Call it a tease & I'm not talking Dita von ...

You can see the rest over at the S-D forum.

Very nice comparison. Are you building the 1/35th scale one?

I own both,

i will be building both, but not yet:

1) Delta - needs detail/paint finish
2) Type II - complete from scratch, own made fiberglass hull & wtc
3) Skipjack - mobeius with scratch wtc
4) Type XXIII - bronco with scratch wtc
5) Type XXIII - 32nd parallel. I like the bronco more, so this will get bumped, no ETA on its start really

of course there are a couple boats in the mix as well, i am currently collecting things for boats 2, 3 & 4, and might build the WTCs in a mass-production batch mode. if that happens, then the easiest to build of the three will be finished first.

Not stirring anything up here but I notice only 2 guys are converting this terrific model to RC. Nothing here or on the other RC submarine sites ( both US and UK). Wonder why?

you aren't looking very hard

do you mean people posting images of their current build, or simply stating that they will convert it, if it is a question of will convert, on this thread alone, i count

me,
mfr
merriman
epg800

simply put, it takes a while for progress to be made.... this is not my day job.

on subcommittee i see that DMarquez3014, Thor, sam reichart, Jim Butt, and warpatroller have all purchased the kit with intent to build them as r/c.

as far as mine goes, it will have a 21" 2.75" lexan wtc with 8" being ballast tank, a gear pump for filling the tank (OTW style), a himaxx HC2812-0650 motor, castle creations sidewinder micro ESC, Raboesch 50mm 3 bladed prop, 4mm shaft, cast resin endcaps for the WTC, sombra receiver, and 3 futaba 3115 servos. haven't decided yet whether i will use a brushed or brushless motor for the pump. I would like to setup the pump with brushless. still need to think that through

I want to see people posting their build, how they tackle converting a static plastic display kit to a real working RC sub.
