Ummmm, Type IIA or B? At roughly 4', it would certainly be doable in the same scale but only if you find enough scale modelers interested in buying one. Revell certainly didn't seem to have any problem finding buyers for their Gato so one never knows.

With 9 months between release dates, you can easily do both.

Regarding cost, I'd think it will probably be considerably less than Revell's kits.
