My wings have been in the 150° to 155° on the leading edge, granted this wing is less angle, here's the data
Quote:
Pro's:
Reduced drag across the whole wing.
Reduced tip stalling even further than the original
increased Lift to drag ratio. The Wing (starts) stall at 9-11* AoA at 240 mph, and approx 11-14* at 180mph. Meaning it is a crank and bank machine....

PS: Its a wing and a fin only nothing else to drag around

Sometimes we just like doing stuff different. It doesn't always have to be better.

I designed mine in math class in high school.

Nice job Steve, I like the look of that.
I must say this has been the most interesting read here in a while.
Good job to all.
The wave spar and forward swept wing for speed are intriguing

Would someone take the time to tell me the weight restrictions on F3S airframes?
meaning the weight to square inches rule. I know a kilo is 2.24 lbs and a square meter is 1550 sq in....
thanks

Some other restrictions!
Maximum is 72V (16S), maximum flying weight of 5 kg and as Tzeentech said maximum of 75g/dmē wing loading!

Ciao, Marcus

BigCat, this picture is worth a thousand words!
this was a wave spar pic
Hi guys, I think I got it figured out, how about if I made split templates like feather cut, make a third template with the wave, do the bench setup for cutting the core and cut the wave first into the foam block for the wing core, ad pre preg cloth/resin, bag. Now I have a core block of foam with the wave in it ready to cut the wing core out for sheeting etc. I believe if one goes about it methodically and with care the whole process could be done without loading up the trash can!

Ps: When Duralite first came out in the 90"s their first Rx packs were 2 cell lithium 'AA' size packs that were supposed to be mill spec. They produced 600ma@6v and would last a weekend of pylon race heats before needing charged. Anything out like them now?
I still have a dead pack and their 'special' charger!

here's another SFW to gander at!

Hey guys, love that wave spar picture. Seen Jaro Muller do that before.

Regarding foam core and wave spar combination, I guess you would have trouble cutting the foam and hitting the carbon with the hot wire.

Perhaps better would be to make a set of cheap moulds by using the foam off cuts rather then the core. Laminate a thin sheet of premade composite to the off cuts. I've seen Stumax do it that way with great results. Same for the 3de mould half with the wave form, however this time you just lay up some thin glass on it and fill, sand, PVA as the finish is not important on this part. Then build the wing hollow as in the picture. No need for a CNC machine and just a single set of good cores (get them done by a pro).

Just an idea.

CC160 hv question,
Ok, there are on both sides of the pcb what appears to be heavy buss bar material spaced about .015 apart, on each side of the esc. Question is can I attach a heat sink across? And, should I worry about shorting between their prospective gaps?

I want to machine a T shape heat sink, hollow the trunk, glue it to the rails, using the sinks for mounting. at the same time protecting the exposed components

Thanks
Tom
