Obeche Veneer

Guys,
I've found a source for 1.5mm (.059") thick Obeche veneer. They won't piece it out so I have to buy a log at 2,800 sqft. It is 116" long x about 10" wide average. It would price out at about $.75 sqft plus shipping.
Any interest?
Asher

Subsequent to this initial post and inquiry, the veneer is 112" long and varies in width from 4"-10". The pricing is $.90 SF

Asher, I'm game. How will they convert it to veneer e.g. width x length of sheets?

Regards,

Steve

Steve,
Sorry for the confusion. It's already sliced. 116" long x average of 10" wide. 1.5mm thick.

Shipping?

Sounds good, but how is it going to be shipped, and at what lengths? Thanks, Bob.

It's typically rolled into an 18 inch or so diameter hoop and shipped in a box. Can also be stored that way as well for a long time.

Asher,

Are we nearing critical mass for this to work financially?

Mike,
I'm waiting on samples to seal the deal. This stuff is like hen's teeth and I've been looking for a long time, read years. I'll sit on what doesn't sell because projects get started in my head everyday and the day job plays out in 5 years or less. I'm thinking not only wing sheeting but obeche plywood for bulkheads and ribs on a 40% ASK 18 along with 2-ply skins, core stock for laminates, set-up pieces for laser/cnc cutters(really dreamin'), etc. You guys will know where it is if you need it down the road.

HI Asher and gang, I obtained all of my obechi from Edensaw Wood LTd in Kent Washington. You need to buy a full bundle, and it is what I sold here on RCgroups. It is excellent quality. If this is your supplier, you will be very satisfied!

Let me know if I can help in any way!

Joser
