Hot wire foam cutter

So I got my first 3d foamie the other day and fell in love. It was a hand built model and it flew great. I love to build so I immediately started researching how I could do the same thing. I soon realised I needed a foam cutter, so I made one. I didnt take pics of me building the frame/table but its really easy and I'll answer any questions you may have. So far all I have done is the body, I still need to add the power. I tried a handful of small power bricks I had lying around but none of them got the wire hot. I will try some others I have tomorrow.

Looks good so far. I'm curious to see how it works. My buddy was using a handheld version, but it was not as precise as we had hoped. Please keep me posted with your progress.

So got the electronics today. Heres a list of materials needed
Table Parts:
5/8 x 24 x 24 Premium Particleboard http://www.lowes.com/pd_4508-99899-1...7C1&facetInfo=
Legs= 1.75" Square
Arm= .85" Square
L brackets for support
Electronics:
Lutron Rotary 5-Amp White Preset Dimmer http://www.lowes.com/pd_211632-539-D...roduct_price|0
25.2V CT 2.0A Heavy-Duty Chassis-Mount Transformer with Lead http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2102703
Miscellaneous cables to tie everything together
Using .23mm electric guitar string right now for heating wire with a spring for tension.

Heres a link to the site that told me how to wire up the dimmer and transformer http://www.instructables.com/id/Hot-...dimmer-switch/

Its working great!! Right now all I have is dollar tree foam and it is very light but not very sturdy when the paper backing is removed. I plan on ordering some depron sheets. If you have any questions please ask. I will post my first build here when I'm ready
