Just putting in my $0.02:
As delivered,the rotor head on mine had a distinct lean to the left,so check this before 1st flight.One rod was also slightly bent,so this was removed and straightened.
The rudder and elevator pushrods were too long,so i put a little kink in it:


I fitted slightly larger wheels,as well as a locknut under the rotor top disk.Also replaced one of the screws on each blade with a toothpick.
I'm not confident about the magnets holding the battery hatch down,so i fitted an external latch:


I really would like a steerable tail wheel,but I'll try it as is first.
Finally,a couple of pics of the gyro in it's finished state:

Actually,those wheels still look a bit small.May need to go up another couple of sizes.

Forgot to mention,test ran the motor.
16.4A and 184W on a 1300mah 3-cell pack.

Not quite sure of the set up on this motor ....but all that exposed motor shaft is just asking to be bent. It is usually best to keep the prop,hard up to the motor,as the prop touching the deck is always going to bend the shaft...........

Erm, isn't that U/C in the wrong way round?

Yes that's the wrong way round, they should be raked forwards.

Mine has 60mm diameter wheels on and I spread the wire out a bit more to help with ground handling.

Did my first loops Friday, really easy to do ... just gather speed and pull back on the elevator. Tracks straight through the loop as well

Have you rolled it yet? I tried yesterday, it went over but it was certainly "interesting". Great fun though, I'm really enjoying mine as my first autogyro. I guess I'm smitten, I have a rotorshape on the way now too .

No I haven't ....not brave enough as the roll control doesn't seem that responsive. I am give it a go this afternoon.

Will try and get some video.

Seen it and bookmarked already PeterO, actually it's your fault I ordered it! I will be making the rudder modification and probably larger wheels for ROG takeoffs.

First thing I did was spin the motor on high and use a cutoff wheel (spinning opposite direction) to cut the shaft right below the threads. Then put a 4mm collet on the shaft -- and since I'm paranoid about compression collets I used red locktite to assist holding the collet in place.

Ok, i really got and headache thinking about what appens to my auto-g:

I'm using a 1800 3s lipo. Maiden it and what i found was that to fly straight without tendencies to go up or down at 1/3 motor, my elevator is down trimmed.

Using a bigger lipo, what i expected was to have up elevator.

I've flown three of them and they all have a bit of down trim. The horizontal stab and elevator almost looks like a semi-symmetrical airfoil with a flatter bottom, if that makes sense. The battery is so close to the CG, I doubt the few extra grams would require any trim. I mount a GoPro camera to the mast structure and I can barely feel the difference.

I can think of a few odd reasons to have more down with a nose heavy AG, probably due to increased speed for the weight, but you never know with these little devils.
