Ouch Mike, that sanding video remark hurt

The tooling cloth is woven, but it's a strange weave that is able to form around compound curves very well. It is generally used for mould making. I'll take a pic of it close up for you.

I'll push and get this done before end of December. That trip idea sounds awesome, lets do it.

Hi Mike, here is the tooling cloth, it's actually 205gsm, according to the scribble on the cardboard core it's wrapped on.

Hi Dudley,
Ok I can see now , I have not tried that fabric, it looks great, how many layers you doing? I find once you have the shape pieces of 106gr tight weave cover the open weave nicely, but it does not like compound curves so use the biggest strips you can and run them diagonally around the pod areas.
Sorry about the sanding reference what was that all about , seems your buddies on the slope forum had some fun with that.
The MS beige primer will also flatten things off quite quickly once you are happy with the shape.
regards
Mike

Hehe Johann, don't make me send you a 5.25m plane to fly on slipper.

Ok, i'm not too good at sitting around waiting for epoxy to cure. I decided to get going with the wing joiner plug while I wait. The plug is 16mm MDF with the 3 degrees per side dihedral and 800mm long.

Well, been some time since I updated this build log. Mainly because the plug has been driving us mental. It's done now. Here are some pics.

Canopy mould done and I am ready to cut the plug for the canopy lip.

Hi Dudley, and Glen,
Glad to see you back on the build, the results so far look great, very similar in looks and size to my now stalled JS1 builds
Keep the building momentum going soon we turn the corner with summer back on its way. and warm soaring weather
regards
Mike.

Thanks Mike, The problems with the plug really put a dent in morale and hence progress. We're all fired up again and moving along swiftly.

Thanks for the encouragement!!

Hey, who made you my spokesperson? @ Mike - thanks, only took 222 days to get to this point! Not sure what "moving along swiftly" means but I'm in this for the long haul with Dudley (who makes a good cup of tea btw). Cheers.
