rules update

The rules are now updated with the exception of the sail measurement formula and sail area calculation.

Happy reading, we narrowed 60 pages down to about four or five.

If you guys needs masts let me know. The section we've been doing for our boats is 93" and weighs 7 ounces. Profile is 12.5mm X 30mm, with internal boltrope groove.

let me think about it. What will your total sail area, ballast & draft be? That will give me an how it would compare to our current layup for the 2m masts.

sail area

sail area is 15850cm2 upwind.

all up weight is 7.225kg

keel weight is 5kg

max draft is 335mm

Are the masts carbon ?

Are they hollow ?

Will they meet the rules for scalability of the real boat ?

OK, that helps.
Yes the masts we are doing are Carbon and would work very well.
Given the difference in righting moment (much less) they could be made even lighter than what we're doing for the 2M AC.
As far as scalability I think they would be the closest thing to a real mast since they're: an airfoil section, are carbon & have a boltrope groove.

Mast cost

Hi John,

Sounds good.....I am concerned as to even a guess of the cost.If we all provide an "less painfull" way in,perhaps this may start well. On the other hand,if we all charge our "full and fair" price.......maybe-no.

Your thoughts? DD

update with pictures

We've updated the class page. we lobbed off the forward six inches and are reworking our section there to get a little better shape before creating our mold. We hope to have the mold completed and a hull kicked out by next week.

Will keep everyone posted. More pics to come.
