What diameter is the motor shaft - anyone know? I think I'll start looking for a collet type prop adapter, but wasn't sure what the motor shaft dia is. I normally replace any set screw type prop adapter immediately. Seen too many fail.

You guys must be buying all of them up. LOL! My stock prop still looks okay but I have no doubt it's the reason. Gona go out and fly my GWS equipped edge right now. :-)

I used a 2mm collet for apc props. It did weigh 5.4g though and apc 7x4E is 8.4g. If anybody has a problem with prop adapters flying off you need to try a dab of blue loctite. I had a 3mm collet that liked to fly off, a dab of loctite cured it, I had the prop fly off once after that but the collet stayed attached to motor shaft, just pulled the shaft right out of the motor with it.

More flights today, finally got some flat spins out of it, blenders and some really fast rollers. Way too much aileron throw. On mine, the aileron pushrods were in the outside holes of the servo arm and I had to cut max throw down to 75% and it was still way too high roll rate. Once I got home I removed the pushrods and put them in the inside holes of the aileron servos.

Also, this thing acts like it is really nose heavy a lot. Took max elevator throw (150% on the DX8) to get enough to flatten the spins. And that was with the battery at the very back of the battery box area. Next up- add some weight to the tail.

Once I get everything worked out I think its going to be wonderful. Its going to take a while to zero in on the mixes and trim,but I can see it will be worth it.

It does land very well without a lot of work, every landing was smooth and slow.

I didn't know what to expect, but now I'm liking it a lot!

First of all, many thanks to user slow-fly for his postings concerning props here

I modified a lot of things at my Edge, also checked all screws and figured out one motor mount srew was overdrilled .
First I had big trouble to loose the prop nut while motor was turning around with it. I re-glued my motor mount too, was bad glued and I used Pattex Extreme Repair for it.
Also one lip at my motor hatch (cowling) was not glued fix--I use a little tape 'tesa" here.
Wires from ESC are fix in better position on left side in the battery compartment.
Prop and spinner are balanced- little tape on one blade makes the plane quiet
All linkage/rods are adjusted.

Unfortunatelly,mods are done, my Edge has some "cosmetic damages" more -the foam quality is a mess and I hope HH learn from that, also their QC isn't good enough here.
Now....I have to fly and hope all negative points will erase after I had the "Edge feeling" in the air
I have only SLS 3S/500mAh 30C (52g) but want to have GensAce 460 next,
prop change to GWS 7x 3,5 HD and the pilot has to go out (payload).

So I'm guessing something like this should work just fine right? I've got some room to move my batteries aft a little so even if this adds a little weight I should be OK.

The Thunder Power was pretty sweet actually. It had lots of punch and was a little lighter than the stock prop. The price is a little steep though.

XP12 is also a good ESC-9g but I will prefer the GWS 7x3,5 HD with stock ESC-seems to be the best combination.

There are two green plates, one on the hatch and one on the fuse. The one on the fuse has holes in it and the one on the hatch has pins sticking out to fit the holes in the other.

You are correct. Both of the plates on mine were attached the the fuse. Removed the plate with pins and CA'd it to the hatch. Everything is good now except that I'm still waiting on batteries. Guess I'll have to run around the house with it making airplane noises for now.

Looks to me like it ought to work great. Not sure what size the prop shaft part of it is compared the the gws props though. But that's always fixable one way or the other. Looks to me like it would be a better situation than the set screw one. Will your lhs have them stock?
