The apc 7x4E looks to be the best prop upgrade on 3s. It pulls 133 watts @ 11.7 amps, stock is 112 watts @ 9.9 amps. The 7x3.8 slow fly pulls 155 @ 13.9 amps. These tests were done static on a full battery, I'd say the 7x4E is pushing the limits but still safe with a little throttle management on a stock edge.

So..... Just got the Edge. Have been having some troubles, especially with removing the aileron servo leads from the y-harness. After I finally separated them, the fuselage cracked from the recoil of separating the leads. Then after my first flight, a light landing in grass resulted in cracked/bent landing gear. Lastly, the manual doesn't give recommended differential!mixing. It says to go to the e-flite website for advanced settings but nothing is there. There aren't any program files for the Dx7/8/18 either. Someone please persuade me to keep this plane!

This what MikeRX on Eflite zero thread said about the 340 motor

With a 460 mah 3s and 7x4" prop it pulls about 13amps at 130 watts static.
Now it has around 20 oz of thrust to pull the same 8.9 oz of weight!
(Stock is around 9oz thrust on 2s, and 14 on 3s)

Yes those very small servo wires ARE a pain!! And the plugs take a bit of patience and some tweezers??? But the bent landing gear in grass??? I've accidentally landed mine in grass once with no issues,,, can't you just bend it back??? I think once you get past these issues,, I think you'll find it to be a GREAT flying plane

Thanks Slofly!!!! Sounds like the apc 7x4 prop is the easy upgrade path,, works out to about 250watts/lb,,, should be just enough performance boost to make her Puuuuurfect!!! And,,, as you said,, with throttle management,, should be OK,, as stock ESC is rated for 12amps for 15sec burst,,, plus that's static, and once unloaded prob amp draw maybe lower ???
Although ,,,,,, the 340 motor on 4S ,,,, could be FUN ,, for those who dare. :-O

I LOVE the looks of a wood prop,,, but I wonder how much it weighs compares to stock plastic??

Differential mixing help please

I can't help but thought I'd try too as
I've read at least 3 requests for this in past 2 days.
some have asked for dx6i, dx8, etc

Can you imagine if 3S on this 340 motor produces 20oz of thrust,, what 4S would do??!!! :-O

I looked today at both my LHS but no luck. They couldn't get it for me before the weekend because of Thanksgiving. I was hoping someone would have it on hand to try. As far as weight goes this thing can easily handle a little extra plus wood props are more efficient. So lower amps and more power

Can anybody share there differential settings im running a dx6i never had to run ailerons on a different channel before. Also would like to fly this plane more sport like what would be good dual rates and expo. The expo on low rates still seem alittle wild to me. Anybody out there care to help with the differential and maybe some help with dual rates are the low rates insane or do they tame this beast down abit? I have a dx6i thanks for any help. DrewC
