Oh WOW I didn't know anyone had more then handful of flights. I wonder about some of these servos.

If so I Plan on swapping out the RX for one of these Minima Rx's, so i can still use My Hitec Aurora9..

In the e flite zero thread one guy there upgraded his zero with the 340 motor,, said he measured 20oz of thrust at 12amps with a 7x6 prop. So maybe extra weight of that motor could be offset by using the TP325 battery??? 20oz of thrust would be AWSOME wouldn't it???? ;-)

Edge 540QQ maiden day...

Lil bro came to town to pick up his Edge.
Mine was ready to go.
Off to the field we went.
Of course my 3S Beast 3D came along.
Flight conditions were 40° with 12~15mph winds.
Perfect!

I think I scared Torye a bit with my on-the-deck KE B3D stuff in those winds.
Heard him yelp a few times as the wings got super low.
I've got about 300 flights on her now and we are well acquainted.

The Edge:
Torye was drooling all over my shop when he saw her size.
She fits beautifully on the passenger seat of my mini truck.
My test flights today were with stock Gens Ace (3S) 450s and BB Hyp (3S) 320s w/JST-XH tap.
CG check.
Range check. OK
Winds were straight down the runway and very much a non issue.
WW she flies beautifully!
Highly aerobatic!
Very stable.
Rudder/Elevator 150% throws.
Ailerons 100% with 25% expo.
Just right if you love highly sensitive sticks.
She handled the wind much better than I thought she would.

My GA 450s were all the way forward to get the CG dead on.
The BB Hyp 320s were almost touching the motor.
Excellent news for me because she will be easy to get that CG back.
Can't wait to fly her in calm!

Something must be done about that rattling landing gear.
WOW again.

Power was impressive even with the stock prop.
A very pleasant surprise!

What on earth are all those wires doing in my battery bay???
Simple fix.
Will drop the ESC and motor wires below.

Nice plane Quique!!
She will get many hrs of flying time.

rc

ps...Horizon, why reverse the Velcro???

It's finally correct! Sticky barbed pieces go on the permanent part (bulkheads, fuses, structural parts), and the soft fuzzy half goes on the removable parts (battery, ESC, receiver, etc)

let me know if you get the CG worked out with the lipos you have
I know the extra weight is right up front but may be fine with the lipo all the way back...

I have yet to get my 3blade props and this bigger motor could swing that bugger easy and look more scale to me

I have the park 340 on order, I'll get it and install it hopefully Monday or Tuesday. I still have 2s testing to do on stock motor and I'm going to flight test the apc 7x4E some more just to make sure stock motor will handle it.

Thanks again SLO -fly!!! Really appreciate it!!! :-)
Results are interesting,, looks like ill stick with GWS 7x3.5 ORANGE cause everybody knows orange is faster. ;-). It does fly even nicer with the TP325 65c battery though

On e Flites web site they say 6x4 to 6x5.5 with 3S so,,, maybe the 7x3.5 so as to not over amp the ESC. Even if we got 17-18 oz of thrust that would be AWSOME ,, more than 2:1 power to weight ratio would be cool. :-)

Huh... I just noticed this. All my larger stuff like the Slick 51 and even the 130x are that way. All my smaller stuff is reversed. It just happened that way. I never thought about it. I guess I never tried to share batteries between the camps!
