More work has just been done! At this rate I will meet my Wednesday deadline
so far this 1/2 wing weighs 6.9g.

Work done:
Finished the elevon on 1 1/2 of the wing
Folded the second wing 1/2 over
Lighted ribs for 2nd 1/2
Came up with a system to allow the vapor board to be put into (and removed) easily.

be gentle with the elevron throws. might cause tip stalls way out there. looks great!

edit: you might need some washout. a glider i made of a ho-229 did not fly half the time cuz the lack of washout. i had an airfoil on it (sort of...)

what are you using for gear?

Had a few set backs to day and it wont be ready for the indoor meet (which im off to in 10 mins).
Just have to get the wing ready for the next meet (in 2 weeks).

Nemoskull: Landing gear? none!

List of things to do:
Do linkages
Finish hatches
mount motor
extend motor wires <==== this wont be easy

Pictures coming soon!

an airhogs propeller (45mm) will give you close to 15 grams of thrust. the 2508 will be in the area of 13.
keep us posted!

Pictures as promised!

How the board will be mounted, the two hatch system
The bottom hatch will have rails and magnets on it. The board will be slid onto this hatch and secured using the magnets.
This hatch is now closed.
The to hatch is now opened so I can hook the linkages up to the board.
The battery is now connected and the hatch closed, ready to fly!

It might be an idea to line the hatch out with hard balsa or light ply,to get some strength back in the nose.
Tip for budget builders-the wood boxes that fruit etc are imported in have a lot of good light ply in the sides/ends.

Well today I managed to find time to do some work.
Unfortunately im now looking at a redesign

Problems: The linkages are too stiff, Its too hard to fit (and remove) the vapour board

and now I am clue less of what to do next, so I don't know If i will make a new wing or do something to the current.

Any idea where the stiffness is?I'd be tempted to cutaway enough of the top surface to expose the problem area, ease the board access at the same time. The cut out piece can be replaced by glueing a strip under either side of the cut for it to sit on.

cut the the foam. go for skeliton, or just added acces hatches everywhere. then, get some tissue paper, and pre shink it, then glue it on to cover the holes. its an idea.

Im still building the wing! (slowly)
I have decided to make strip elevons along the length of the wing. Now If i can just make decent linkages...

Because I wanted something using the Vapor board, I made a simple pusher jet.
I call it the Sky Wedge

Test fly tonight!
