there are. if you search on the web, there's a company in Germany that makes micro turbines like you are asking about. very cool and they spin at ungodly RPM's. LOL.
holy lord, Sherlock is flying turbine..............well, sort of. as suggested above, you should fly with that guy for a while before you try it alone. he'll keep your plane in one piece for a little while longer. learn all you can before you jump in the deep end.
