Nice landing

You would love the UM Extra 300... if you ever have the chance to pick one up, do it. It is discontinued but a killer indoor 3D plane.

I have flown several. They fly pretty good but at over a mile a.s.l. it is a bit underpowered with a small selection of props to fix it. They are fun though.

Carbon fiber prop

I did the standard lightening mods. I removed the battery stickers and Velcro, increased the throws, but my MV still struggled to loop. Then I added this carbon fiber prop and prop saver.

Carbon Fiber prop --http://www.rcfoam.com/product_info.p...ae1afe5590ce4a
Prop adapter-- http://www.homefly.com/products.asp?id=10&pg=2

With this prop I can do as many loops as I want and boy is it fast! This morning I pulled off 5 consecutive loops in my livingroom! The speed increase is ridiculous. I'm sure it isn't, but it seems twice as fast. Consequently, I am only flying at the bottom half of my throttle so my flight times have improved by 2-3 minutes.

This change of prop has changed this tame flyer into a nimble little speedster. Woohoo!

The second link doesn't work...is it the 101mm shafts because the MV one is ~120mm, I believe. I too am having trouble looping but I'm trying it in very limited space. I would like to have more power though and cant seem to spend enough money on this little guy.

Am I right in thinking it dives less in sharp righthand turns ?

Terry, I do notice that the aircraft flies differently due to the torque. You'll want to trim it slightly to the right. Left turns seem easier now. Nothing too erratic, though.

Just try it, it's only a matter of screwing off and on the prop(s).
