You got that right. I finally got it mounted on my helicopter, but it wasn't easy! The eagletree sensor would be much, much easier to install. However, a friend flies with spektrum and it uses this type sensor. On his bird it is very erratic. Shows fine for a while then goes to 6000 rpm. Probably just an isolated case. Anyone else seen this problem?

Bit Resolution

I am having a hard time finding the resolution for the various Futaba technologies.

FHSS
S-FHSS
FASST
FASSTest

Also do FASST 7-channel, MULTI, and MULTI2 modes all have the same resolution? I think I read that FASST was 2048 but not 100% sure?

My concern is that if I use a cheap FHSS 4-channel receiver will I be loosing any resolution?

Unless you are flying a precision 3D helicopter or possibly a well trimmed Pattern plane, I doubt you'd feel the difference.

I fly helicopters maximum resolution is critical for precision flying.

So I assume from the way you said it that its lower in FHSS but whats the number?

Scary but I have not been able to find any documentation (whether web page or individual manuals) that state the resolutions of the receivers. If I had to guess - and this is not fact, just a guess - FASST 7CH mode and FHSS is 1024 the rest are at least 2048 though it definitely depends on the receiver.

Typically your limiting factor in resolution will not be the receiver but instead the servos, you need to have very high end servos for them to truly take advantage of the full resolution of the receiver. If you are going all out on the servos then it may be worth the little extra to upgrade from a FHSS to a FASST receiver.

FHSS = 1024
S-FHSS = No idea
FASST 7ch mode = 1024
FASST 8ch mode, MULT and MLT2 = 2048
FASSTest = 2048

Great answer, I could not have said it better myself.

Using regular servos like hs-65, I can tell no difference. But my new 64" mxs with its hs7245 servos and a 2048 resolution rx is noticeably faster, more precise and more responsive.

Thanks, that’s exactly what I wanted to know. I flew 1024 PCM for years and it was good. I wonder why they only made 1024 since it’s newer technology. I guess it’s the cost of keeping the price down.

I do use Futaba BLS servos on all my helicopters. They can take full advantage of 2048 and more. I agree if you still use analog servos who cares - LOL!

Did you buy two so that you can save twice as many models,
without having to buy that pesky memory card that is not supplied?
