Ultimate SWAT Style RC Car

I'm building myself a "Swat" wannabe rc car, just because I always wanted to have one, it will have the following installed.

VIDEO SYSTEM:
- 690TVL Ultra WDR Pixim SEAWOLF Camera (DAY CAMERA)
- 570TVL Pixim Videology Black/White Camera (NIGHT CAMERA)
- (2) IR Lamps 120 IR LEDs in total.
- 1.3ghz 1500mw Video TX
- 1.3ghz Custom diversity RX with Range Video diversity board
- R/C Video switcher for night/day camera
- OSD to monitor Volatges, Temps etc (still looking)

COMMUNICATIONS
- Motorola 5 watt UHF or VHF Radio, audio tx/rx will be controlled by R/C Radio

VEHICLE
Pride JET2HD Wheel Chair (4.5mph max)
Sabertooth 2x25amp ESC
(2) 12Volt, 55Ah AGM Batteries (battery range 25 miles per charge)
350lbs of pushing power (has torque like crazy)
(2) 10 watt LED lamps
(1) Emergency Kill Switch

I have a lot of work to do but the most difficult part "converting it to R/C is already done, the sabertooth ESC is EXCELLENT.

One of the things I will change later is the tires and if I find a good Thermal Camera on ebay, it will be installed too.

SORRY for the interference on the video, the RX was on the floor with the stock whip antenna in horizontal position, I'm building some cloverleaf and skew planar antennas tonight. ...........................OH YEAH This car is stealth, you can barelly hear the motors or wheels.
"Swat wannabe Spy Robot" (2 min 50 sec)

I have a stunt gun, .22lr semi-auto handgun, 12ga shotgun, 9mm and a 380. and I can possibly install a flame thrower but it will be illegal to install them on this

That's pretty much my plan. An R/C electric wheelchair base with arduino and ping sensors (obstacle avoidance override) and perhaps light sensor to make it turn away from the sun (so I can install a solar panel on it's back for charging). I will also have FPV with headtracking via fatshark dominators. I also want an arm and collection basket.

The big player here is the Sabertooth 2x25 , it was meant to be used on electric wheelchairs.

If you get a hold of this wheelchairs, you need to use AGM batteries, (car batteries wont last much and are a hazard)

1) the motors have 4 wires (2 for the motor and 2 for the magnetic brake) I removed the magnetic brake because the wheelchair motor gears by itself stops when the power is not present. the magnetic brake waste to much power when its in use and you have to add a relay etc etc. not worth it. Just take them out , very easy to do.

2) connect the motors to the Sabertooth, connect the battery to the sabertootk and the servo leads to your Radio receiver, do some easy calibrations and you are done.

I will add more info during the week.

That is cool. Now you need a custom OSD with a antenna tracker to point your antennas back at the GS.

I bought my wheelchair on a pawnshop for around $500 one battery was bad and I replaced both AGM batteries, at first I used tractor batteries but they died in less than a month of testing, AGM are sealed and last hours and hours of playing. The AGM batteries are not cheap tough.

I plan to built this "spy car" with good items and then sell it on ebay :-)

Something that I love about this wheelchair is that it gives me 20-25 miles per charge at 5mph and it will move a 350lbs person with ease.

As for the Radian pusher mount it will be tested hopefully tomorrow, I just finished installing my fpv gear to the radian.

The motor mount will be adjustable, it will perform similar to the Easy Star, Bixler etc but with ability to adjust the angle.

This would be a good product to market as self-defense for disabled people in dangerous areas. Speach recognition for busting a cap. Steven hawkings patrolling the neighborhood.

this is really cool - it seems like you have a ton of space too and with the weight handling capabilities you could put a small gas generator on it for extended operations lol...
