You will notice that it takes 3/4 throttle to hover instead of 1/2 as example.
Also the light on top will stop blinking but this is only usefull if you can see it and are not flying around.

Best advise is like any RC vehie is to set a timer and fly until your cut off and not the batteries.
+1 on the timer.. Mines set to 7mins

Gents,
+1
Additionally as with other multicotpers, your peak performance levels are at the first 50% of lipo time available. After that you need to lighten up on the aggressive maneuvers and flips if your multicopter can do them and fly a bit less aggressively or you may not have the reserve power to be able to recover from tight turns etc. As it has been mentioned before the RCE1 at this time can't do flips even in the Expert mode.

Cheers,
Jim

@NERM-

Very nice video. Wonderful exhibit of control. I have in the past from take off till dead battery had complete flights while holding full yaw. Endless donuts! It's an awesome way to learn control as you have to input corrections at just the right time to keep the EYE One from bounding off the walls! I think you got what it takes!

Once again +1 smooth operator!

Adam

Hi Gary,
Nice work! I found that when I put on a OEM 16.7g #16 keycam, the RCE1 has enough lift with reserve for about 3 minutes of flight time before it loses enough reserve power to recover and counter any wobble of death(WOD) induced from wind gusts. It would be really nice if the RCE1 had the ability to adjust the PID for added AUW stability by a setup utility or POTI. I found it handled gusts better without a WOD if I mounted the slightly smaller less pitched Mini Pet props too. That effectively is a way of doing a crude mechanical PID adjust Interestingly, there is only slightly reduced lift and flight time with those props and some increased stability probably due to less mass and pitch drag. Note also that the throttle power is reduced in the Sport mode. You have more in the Expert mode to lift, but then you are the self-leveling device It would be nice for the RCE1 to have that extra power in the Sport mode too. Experiment!
Cheers,
Jim

My

I couldnt wait any longer, i want to see it in action outside...

I have only flew 1 minute or 2 indoor in mode 2 with spycam...

Today, with little wind, before going to work i went for a quickie on front garden.

My opinion... it is as descrived, super stable and i only used mode 2...

I stripped a spy cam, added a bigger velcro strap so i could passed throw battery and spycam.

Videos avaiable in 720P:

29.01.2013 - 720P - RC Logger Eye One - 2º Vôo Outdoor - Mode 2 - Spy Cam. (1 min 12 sec)

29.01.2013 - 720P - RC Logger Eye One - 1º Vôo Outdoor - Mode 2 - Spy Cam. (2 min 52 sec)
2m35s you can see me letting down the command and he was solid as a rock.

Counting down time to get the Eye one extreme...

OFFTOPIC - #11... HD720, but the quality from this footage is not good, i dont know why, maybe the lens is dirty, i am going to clean it. You can check other videos on my youtube and see the quality, i use a keychain #11 in most of them with a 180 lens and it records as a go pro).

I already tried mode 3... a hour ago i showed my colleagues from the office the Eye One in action in mode 2... i have some collegues that are also RC pilots, they were... WOW !!! So they challenged me to try mode 3... its a bullet... dont recommend anyone to try it indoors or without completly dominated mode 2, its very sensible and the power is twice as mode 2...

Its a pocket rocket... a bullet... then they were... (WOW)^2. Two of them are already going to order one today and other two are going to wait for the Extreme version.

I have the 808 #11 and #16. The 808 #16 has much better quality and if you have video software, you can really make it pop.
