Always Fly 2 Mistakes High!

Keep it Close

I flew my One last weekend and it flew great but I didn't. I let it get too far away, probably about 75 yards away, and it just dropped out of the sky all at once. I must have exceeded range. I was over long grass so there was no damage at all. When I got to it...it had reacquired signal and I flew it back to base with no problems.

I flew it to about 25 yards away, lost orientation and thought I was coming back toward me but it was going away. I was on intermediate mode so it was flying faster than normal. I was about 25 feet up in the air and if I was over hard ground, I'm sure it would have been damaged.

Keep it close!

Russ

Be advised replacing the frame requires soldering, and there are delicate electronics near the joints and thru-out the board in general, be very careful not to get the iron too close. (Been there, done that.)

They should be receiving stock soon. Once they do then all the main carriers I would assume will get them pretty quickly.

Hehe ... sorry for being faster Next time I'll wait 10 seconds

Too bad that we damaged the new RC EYE Xtreme working sample just before we planned to pack it ;( I will still have one sample with me in Nuremberg and at the same time we are trying to fix the 2nd sample of the RC EYE Xtreme and have it shipped to the hotel where I am staying while in Germany. S*it sometimes just happens ;(

It happened while trying to install the FPV kit. Well, as it is an ABS hand-made sample the longer landing legs are just a bit too fragile. I am still hoping to be able to share some images soon.

It's all good. Would look bad if I beat you at at linking your own post (from your own company).

Ugh, hate to hear the news on the updated sample. Best of luck in getting it back up and ready for the show so that your company can get the full exposure it deserves at the Toy Fair.

After reading about the RC Logger Eye One and Xtreme, I think I want to get one, both.
I want to start with the Eye One and I want to put a keychain camera on board. Before I pull the trigger will the Eye One carry an additional 18.4 to 23.3g of weight? I know the camera doesn't weigh that much, this will include dampers and nylon screws.

Hi,
When the battery runs down on the eye one..does it just stop..or does it gradually drop in power?

It drops in power.
You will notice that it takes 3/4 throttle to hover instead of 1/2 as example.
Also the light on top will stop blinking but this is only usefull if you can see it and are not flying around.

Best advise is like any RC vehie is to set a timer and fly until your cut off and not the batteries.
