They won't be able to read, when they graduate, but by gosh, they'll be THIN!

Really? Banning Hot Cheetos from school?

http://www.webpronews.com/flamin-hot...chools-2012-10

Quote:
A health teacher from a middle school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, recently sent home a letter to parents asking them to leave the snacks at home, due to the fact that they have no nutritional value and often “take the place of a lunch, lead to sharing more germs with other students and caused red fingerprints that created a mess for janitors”.
Germs, really?

Quote:
“We don’t allow candy, and we don’t allow Hot Cheetos,” said Rita Exposito, principal of Jackson Elementary School in Pasadena, California. “We don’t encourage other chips, but if we see Hot Cheetos, we confiscate them — sometimes after the child has already eaten most of them. It’s mostly about the lack of nutrition.”
Yet as many as 40% of CA students graduate as functionally illiterate. Good priorities, there!

So then cold cheetos should be just fine.

Parents, you hear that? Send your kids to school with refrigerated cheetos.

Why yes also why should they be allowed to eat what they like? I mean they are just trying to prepare the kids for the micromanaging nanny state they will inherit right?

I think it is a secret clandestine Department of Defense funded conspiracy. They are desperate for recruits who are not obese, and can be made into functional soldiers.

It looked like you made a clever play on words by saying WOT are Cheetos, when in England their version of Cheetos are called "WOTsies"

You poor soul, You have never had Cheetos?

I don't know what to say... It's like angels dancing on your tounge.

If you had them then had to do without you would have the suicide hotline on speed dial.

Would you like me to send you a bag?

They should ban all candy while they're at it.

Why not just come out and say what you really mean, "they should ban everything that may be enjoyable."

the kindergarten my girls go to has a very strict list of what is allowed and i like it that way. keeps them from begging us for crap that would otherwise be found in other children's meals.

the school my boy is in also does the same but is a little more relaxed. he's already been through three years at the food nazi kindergarten so has healthy eating habits.

My school doesn't regulate what I'm allowed to send with my daughter. For me it comes down to the simple fact that if she wants some "crap" I say no, I am the parent after all. I don't want to be the nice guy and let someone else take the role of parent and say what my child can and can not have at school. It's my responsibility as a parent to be the one to say no.

At 15 she prefers eating asian style dishes vs fast foods. She gets grumpy if she doesn't have fresh veggies and rice daily.
