Since converting a Guillows kit I'm always interested in NYP builds. Note that the cowl on the original is no longer the original colour. It should be just bare aluminum I think. Someone applied some lacquer to preserve it and its yellowed over time.

Yes, I was thinking about that earlier today, if I ought to attempt to duplicate the yellowing. Choices, choices!

Fascinating images - i'm always amazed how fragile and thin the full size planes are built compared to our models. Those ribs look like spider webs to me.

What I found amazing was the amount of skill and workmanship
it takes to build the Spirit .

this is copy 3 made from the original plan's and its a flying copy
all hand built like the original.

I figure when many pieces must be made from the same template, make it from ply.

All the ribs are a tad outside the lines. Each one will have to be fitted, custom like. Bless those who produce laser cut kits!

Great idea Philip57! The Flyline plans are really works of art. Would you mind sharing how you enlarged the plan? Thanks.

Good point Gavin...

Lightweight, I took the plan to a local reprographics shop. $21.75 for two sets.
