Thanks guys.
Made another one with an outside view this time.
Ending with a fully automatic landing of course.
I rasied the Nav P-gain a bit, which helped.
It was also dead calm when I did that flight.

Still to be tuned are RTL and Circle. (Not shown is this video.)
RTL looks like it's on it's merry way back to Hong Kong, and Circle is circling alright, just not very smooth.
Tri_automission_MPNG27_r4.wmv (1 min 40 sec)

I think it's safe to say now that this board can handle Megapirate NG just fine.

You are not making this easy on me... having to sit here and wait, while you have all the fun!

What are the lines that shoot out of your "quad" icon on the map? Looks like there are 3 lines.

@subaru4wd
You have my sympaties. It's been fun.
But I must confess it's been a bumpy ride from august up to I made those flights.
Had not jabram been around, I would still be trying to figure out how the get MPNG on the board in first place.

The lines are:
Orange: Bearing to target (i.e. next waypoint)
Red: Compass heading from mag.
Black: COG, Course Over Ground, based on GPS data. Not very useful, but I don't know how to switch it off.

Hope you get your board soon.

i hope witespy comes through with all the changes to the 2.0 board. If the prices is right then it might be a better buy then the Crius AIO. Don't you think?

I have the CRIUS AIOP yet I like this board better, the standard headers are MUCH easier to work with particularly if you change your layout as you invariably have to when you start installing in a frame them move it etc.

The only advantage AIOP had was better sensors and A0-A5 available for connecting. The disadvantage AIOP has is that terrible USB connector V2 has not really fixed that and those tiny cable connectors.

The 2.5 board that whitespy should be receiving today with the better sensors AND a good solid USB connector that won't rip off if you breathe on it means AIOP has no advantage.

Yup, I'd also like to see what 2.5 becomes.
It wasn't very funny to connect a wire to ADC0 on the CPU for battery voltage monitoring.
Works just fine with a divider (R1=100k,R2=20K) though.
Now it's done at least, but it would've been sweet to have a header.

I also discovered the utterly cool HUD video overlay in the mission planner.
Now I have to get one of those FPV-systems....
Fortunately it's a minor storm here, so I don't have to be interrupted by flying, and can tinker all I want.

Which of the sensors on the AIOP are better than those on the hk board except the barometer.......

The gyro and accelerometer is supposed to be better as in less affetcted by vibration, all new designs including 32 bit design boards are using the MPU6050 and the MS5611 baro,

The MPU6050 has BOTH gyro and acceleometr in the one IC which gets around problems when they are in 2 separate ICs and the positioning of the 2 separate ICs.

Now there is a new twist some like Open Pilot claim the MS5611-01BA3 they intend to use on their upcoming Revo design is more resistant to being influenced by light because it has a stainless steel shell instead of white plastic as most right now are.

I received yesterday an AeroQuad 32 which already uses the stainless steel baro and from quick tests I have done with it, it is NOT less sensitive to light at all, sitting there reading 3.9m, if I shine a torch onto it from 6 feet away the altitude jumps down from 3.9 to 1.2m, so that doesn't match the hype.

Interesting thing is AeroQuad 32 mounted the baro underneath the board so even if you forget the piece of foam it gets less light, well that works BUT ONLY if the surface under it [the plate the board is mounted on] is mat black, if it is glossy or white then the baro is affected by reflected light getting under the board. Makes it easier to place open f foam to keep prop wash out under the board, no need for glue to hold the foam in place.

Photos of the plastic and stainless steel shelled Baro
