900mm epp ju52

hey guys, I'm currently building a model for a friend and thought I should share.. as the description implies it's ju52 (tri motor).

construction is already underway and pics will be up today.

specs:
wingspan: 900mm
weight (390g wet)
engine: x3 1300kv 24g
esc: x3 12amp
battery: 1000mah ( 1300-1800mah 3s pending maiden )

the deal with this plane is.. i build the plane and get it all set for eletronics to go in. then the mate im building it for installs all the electronics.. so far its all goin pretty good.. got the motors mounts, wings are ready for servos, tail section is complete.. only waiting on parts to get in finished up now managed to get som slotted aileron and flaps goin as per the real aircraft.. hopefully you can see it in the pics

Wow.... that looks great. I've got a bit of time before I am able to manipulate foam that way! are you doing this from plans?

thanks guys... flying squid, no plans really, just copying an enlarged pic from Google images. I'm currently creating a how-to thread regarding the shaping of epp.. incase your interested. not much there atm but I'm planning on starting to build the thread and the plane 2moro.. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1751888

ok so here is the semi-complete plane. everything is installed and operating. has 1:1 power at 50% throttle max current draw from all motors combined is 12amps. so im thinking minimum flight power will be around the 5-6amps range whih should give about 10-13 min flight times.. also plannin on upgrading to a 1300mah 3s if the maiden goes well.

AUW is 390g with a 1000mah 3s pack.

here are the pics of the semi finished job. ( the guy im building it for has the task of getting it paint ready )

i couldnt agree more.. they arent on just yet becuase of the maiden.. fittment of cowlings and all other "detail items" will be left to the mate i built it for.. maiden is scheduled for saturday afternoon

you'll notice the engine nacelles arent even carved at all..
