Hey guys,

I'm actually here to ask this for my police radio I use for work. My battery has gone bad, and I was thinking of buying this li-po battery for it... thing is, I have a tri-charger that does nicd, nimh and lion.

will a charger that charges li-ion charge a lipo as well?

the lipo and li-ion are both 7.4v 4100mah...

would this work? and will I get better performance out of the lipo over the li-ion on a radio? Right now, my shift is 12 hours, and I usually have to change the battery halfway through (I have 1 li-ion and 1 nimh). it would be awesome if 1 battery lasted me whole night.

LiIon and LiPo are compatible generally. Both charge to 4.1-4.2V.
4.1 is better generally, but 4.2 won't hurt either.

And I think they mislabled the pack. The ridges indicate that 6 cylindrical LiIoncells sit inside.

These days there is no real difference, our "LiPo" cells are not really LiPo (electrolyte is a gel not polymer) and they are the same chemistry as the cylindrical cells these days.

The charger you have will work fine.
