Tow plane release - a longer version for foam turtle-decked planes

I recently had some longer tow releases cut in my machine shop for my 1/3 scale Extra.

These are "extended" by 30 mm, ie they fit through a foam turtle-deck and are designed to be be mounted to a plywood bulkhead with 4mm flathead machine screws. Also they are oriented properly for bulkhead mounting and not "backwards" like the popular rectangular type on the market.

I designed it so it can be cut down by 25mm for shorter applications and still get two screws into the bulkhead.

Weight is 20 grams, or 0.7 oz.

I can have more of these cut if the interest is there. Price would be $50 shipped conus. I make nothing, ie this is time+materials. No hardware is included. It is designed for a 3mm pull rod or it can be easily drilled out to 1/8" diameter.

It was modeled after the design on this page, but simplified a little for less machining time.

awesome Adam...

I have one of these now and it is very well made. I had to machine my own release a year ago for a nearly identical tow plane installation..

I spent a whole day making mine on a mill and lathe. Adam's are much nicer and of course already done.. well worth the price in my opinion.
