ep-1 gear sets available in small quanity
I have a vendor making gear sets from phosphor bronze, i have a test set on its way.if these gears turn out well.ill be getting a hand full of gear sets made.
Anyone intrested in a set of harder ep1 gears.
Sofar price will be around $33 shipped per set.
Phospor bronze is harder than brass.ill put up pics.
this will sorta work like a back ordered thing.
you pay,gears get built,then shipped.
should have your set in just under 3 weeks,4 weeks at the longest.
ive just paid for 5 sets,he already had a few sets made...so my 5 sets shipped out this morning.
the vender is gonna try to turn out about 100 sets of these gears.
ive been testing a set, they are alot harder than the stock gears.
getting gear sets for the ep1 is very difficult, rare to say the least.gears were the downfall of the ep1.
with all this said....if you fail to adjust you mesh properly, and add needed shims to the ep1s lower unit, you will ruin gears eventually.
maintence is important.
heres the thread i been posting up in,testing the gears ect.
my vendor doesnt want the hassel of dealing with 100 different people and shipping to alot of addresses,so im the middle man.this way he deals with 1 bank account,1 addy,1 buyer.
payment will be sent to my paypal, which i will then transfer to his bank account.once he recieves the funds,he will ship the sets he has already made,or make fresh gear sets.
my paypal is email@example.com
price is $33 (edit...price changed to $36 per set,i keep getting pp for $33....$36 per set)per set as of now, once he puts out a few set,if all goes well he may turn out more gears but the price will slightly increase.
stock brass gears on the left, phosphor bronze on the right.
i been torture testing this boat all day, cavitation then hard bite of water, cavitation, then water.
im intentionally trying to destroy this set.im confident the stock gears wont hold up to this.

ive placed the order for 6 sets,he has 2 sets available now,in 2-3 days he will have 2-4 more to ship out.hes a cnc machinist making this on his own free time.
ok we seen the torture test vids right...just pulled her down.....looks the same as the last time i pulled it down.only damage to the gears is my fault, the motor coupling set screw backed out and allowed the vertical shaft and gear to rise, rounded off the tips of the gears....very slight damage.
im impressed, anyone want repeat the same test on stock gears....lol.
sofar ever 3 runs i have to check all the set screws on gears and couplings, but thats just good practice to check and lube everything.
but im running them hard and excessivly for 20 mins per run.
