Radjet vs SkyFun Jet. Which one to get to replace my abused radjet.
So basically my current radjet has survived-ish around 10 crashes for multiple reasons and the nose has been completely busted about 5 times. Its not pretty and I feel like the curved nose must effect how the plane flies.
So the question is, should I keep it as is and maybe try making the nose straighter with hot water or should I just get a new platform to put my electronics on. The nose is pretty wobbly and the canopy has been covered with packaging tape because the black plastic cover is long gone.
If I were to get a completely new platform, should it be Radjet or SkyFun Jet? Launching my current radjet is scary because it really wants to turn left when launched less than half throttle. And, as you can see from one of the picture below, the propeller was mean to my hand today. Launched it against 25mph wind at half throttle. Not exactly sure what went wrong.
The motor I currently have is awesome and can handle almost 800 watts:
If I decide to buy new foam, I will just take this motor from the old radjet and put it in the new one.

I don't know about your beat to hell Radjet, but man oh man did I do something fun today with my Skyfun- a buddy and i took the stock motor of and fitted a 55 dollar 2800kv microdan motor with a graupner cam speed prop - let me tell yopu the thing would go vertical till out of site at 60mph and close to 100 in horizontal flight- it was awesome fast- what a demon- my buddy immediately said " I am getting one of those"

For less than $20 you can build a Bungee Launcher that will cure all evils of launch and no more prop bites on hands. You are very lucky that prop didn't sever your thumb tendon ... then you'd really be in the s***.
Radjets, Skyfun, Parkjets ......... they all are immense adrenaline fun machines ...... but boy - when they bite ...
Me ? I'm a coward. I have no intention of trying to launch a pusher. I have 2 Parkjets, an F15 pusher, 4 EDF's and ALL go of my cheapo bungee launcher.

I have 2 Radjet 800 and 1 SkyFun.
One Radjet has a prop setup and one has a edf setup.
With edf setup you can't hurt yourself by launching the Radjet.
Also the SkyFan is used with either prop or edf setup.
To show the differences between prop and edf here are the data:
Propeller drive, 440 g ready to fly
6 x 4 APC
Turnigy Lipo 4S 1000mAh 30 c
Values: 13.9 V, 21.0 A, 303 W, 730 g thrust
EDF drive, 642 g ready to fly
64 mm, 10 blade edf, attached instead of the motor with 2 cable ties on the fuselage
Controller 45 A
Nano-tech Lipo 6S 1300 mAh 45 c ( on reasons of space and GP made of 2 x 3S switched in a row)
Readings: 20.6 V, 44.3 A, 955 W, 1050 g thrust
The SkyFun is equipped with Turnigy 2836-2350kv, 6x4 APC. You can use Turnigy Lipo 3S 2200 mAH 20C 630 g thrust or 4S 2200 mAh 40C 940 g thrust
The edf setup is a 70 mm edf with 6 blades, Turnigy SK3 Fandrive - 3516-3300kv
and nano-tech 4S 2200 mAh 40C 1360 g thrust
