The Next Big Foamie EDF, Ideas?

If there`s a silver lining to the sad news out of Vegas this weekend, maybe it`s this. When one goes down, another follows more quickly and builds on all of the knowledge gained.

I have a feeling that one reason Andy isn`t keen on rebuilding his T-38 is that he`s already planning the next big thing and will use all the lessons learned to make it better still.

Also I know that hoards of RCG readers have been energized by the T-38 project. I know I`m one of them.

So, what will the next "Big One" be, and who will build it? What are some good candidates for a huge EDF. It will most likely be a twin of some kind due to the limitations of our current power systems.

More wing area and larger intakes will help with performance and will allow as much as 20kw to be used effectively. Two 14s 200a systems will do that much power.

I know everyone has their favorites. I`ll throw out a few of mine.

Me 262
EF-2000
F-22
Sukoi PAK FA

I can`t undertake a build of that magnitude right now, but I hope that I have the opportunity to do it someday.

I can't start another project until I finish my current on but I to was inspired. But no way in could I build a model of that size....I hate having multiple section to transport

Here is what I see next for me;

F2H-2 Banshee....you gotta love this one!

That'd be cool Kevin. I was thinking about your banshee a while back and opened up my cad tracing of the 3 view that I flirted with for a bit, but didn't get very far before I got distracted by other things. It was 2004! Where does the time go...oh yeah, going to work, what a waste of my time!

Seeing Andy's and Brent's T-38s in person was cool, I even got to see Andy's in flight for a bit as I was driving up on Friday but by the time I parked and got out it had went in. It had a lot of presence!

of those you mentioned Lee, I'de do the Typoon or the PAK. look man, everyone's done the F-22 to death and the 262 has been done too. not many PAK's out there and the Euro hasn't been modelled much in a large size. maybe you could do the Sepecat Jaguar for me. hahahahahahaha

Kinda funny I looked back at my last three scratch builds and they were all started within the first two weeks of December. The gears are turning. .what to build..hmmmm .what to build indeed....????? The more I look at the T-38 it's tottaly fixable..looks way worse than it is. I could have it fixed in 30 days.

My last three builds:

F-4 ...... .Dec 10th, 2009
F-117 ...Dec 1st, 2010
T-38 .....Dec 12th, 2011

Knife , I am trying a B58 shaped wing with a single EDF tube underbody ( instead of 4 engine pods) for next years speed contest in Ottawa. I put it in this speed contest thread I started . I have seen your work it is excellent! Any input work be appreciated. Is there a rule regarding length of thrust tube compared to FSA?

60'' wing 70mm fan you could scale up to 120mm fan 8'ft wing. I find big wing fly's very good & slow & long time
