Esc's
I cant afford to put a castle esc in all my aircraft.... What 100 amp + hobby hing esc's do yal recommend?

Check out Quantum Hobbies, the ZTW Esc's are great.

The suppo 190/200 amp esc does 110amps 8s and cost 29usd...it's 100% no frills...you have to program it with your radio but it's not rocket science.
One of the most reliable ESC's I've used to date and doesn't break the wallet... If you want to move up to big time I've tested the Banana hobby 90 amp 12s esc up to 110amp 10 second burst without airflow and it doesn't break a sweat. No heat soak issues to speak of and warm to the touch... Its a whopping 60shipped if they have them in stock. The YEP esc is a beast also for 90usd but that's top of the line for me...it will no doubt do around 140 amp 20 second burst with good airflow on 14s If you need proof on the 29usd 8s 100 amp SUPPO stop by and I'll show you the 30min worth of mods to do to keep it cool |

The red brick 125a with 5a bec has worked well for me on 7S.... I will say that I have also had 25% that were duds right out of the box but for $30 what do you expect?

Starts around 105 then settles to around 95a. Most flights 5 minutes.

Why Castle is still in business is a mystery to me. I'm not ragging on them, they have a decent product (notwithstanding their recent quality issues), but damn, you can't expect to stay in business and charge 5X what the market charges for essentially the same thing...

Also hobbywings ESCs (36usd from HK with power switch and bec) FETs will eat 100amps constant even though they say 85 amps.
Hobby wings are the next step up after SUPPOs and then there's the ZTW which are sold by bananhobby for almost half the price everyone else sells for. |

My favourite is the Birdy 180A ESC. I have a few of those and they all perform very well.

I have had great luck with the Cobra 150 esc only problem is it's only good for 6s.
