VPP version finished

After a very lazy half day of building, the plane is ready and the Tx set up for tomorrow flying. I hope I can finally learn to 4D without always breaking depron.
I was trying to build light without going to extremes.
I have left out the LG and used CA all around, trying to use only the necessary amount. For ailerons I used the 7.5 g hyperion 09 SCD, tail Gening 541s, vpp pitch 531 (4g Gening). 9" blades on the Mamo system. 2s dualsky 300, 45c pack. The static thrust seems to be quite adequate, plane wants to shoot up from hover. The AUW right below 170g.

this plane looks great, I love my original crack yak. Man if I was not getting my 3dhs 57'' extra I would be pulling the trigger on this. I already have 3 diamond D-47 and a hacker a 10-9L just sitting around doing nothing.

Which ever way round the spar goes it's a very interesting setup. Wasn't expecting that, I thought it would be just 1mm x 6mm carbon strip.

Hope you've got a camera man lined up David

So comes the question now. I see we have a "lite" power combo and the regular power combo. $20 price difference. On a budget will the regular power combo work well enough on this plane. I see the difference really is just the digital servos and the motor that weighs a few grams less. Any opinions?

Hmmm, it could be mine, cede says his spar cut out was double depth in the center, but I'm pretty sure mine wasn't. Doesn't really matter strength wise but could use some clarification.

Azarr

EDIT: Looks like David and cede have their spars in the same way.

Looking fwd to hearing about the VPP version.

Aaeolien, yes the standard power system can work in this model with some epp foam trimming to get the servos in place.

Hey all,

I finished and flew mine today! What a great flying model. It is so close to depron now. I really enjoyed it.

I uploaded some pics of my wing spar assembly from my build to the first post in the thread. The short spar should go in first with the longer rod on top of it (from the bottom)

More to come..

Yes, this time of year most of my flights are indoors in a small church multipurpose room.

David, what motor are you using on the MAMO system? I've been looking for them to produce a 2mm adaptor but haven't seen one yet. I've been running the Hacker A20-34s it's heavy, but has a 3mm shaft. On a 325TP pack I get less than 2 minutes with aggressive VPP use.
