I found some, but not at a decent price, like when they were disappearing from the small power tool market a couple of years ago.

Most cheap sources are not going to be legit. There's a big problem with QC rejects being sold on the gray market. If I was looking to get some LiFePO4 cells I would look at other manufacturers, at least then you know what you are getting.

The last bunch of A123 I bought was from B & D they back then were 8 years old on B & D shelf. Charged & run fine.

Hacker LiFe Packs
Hacker Germany sell their own brand of LiFe packs, 2S to 5S, made up of flat cells. They claim 30C and "up to" 600 cycles. The weight is close to that of corresponding A123 packs.
I have used 4S 2100 packs for some time without problems and with only occasional balancing although I have only charged at 1 C and not tried pushing them hard in discharge. |

I tried them & they are very satisfactory. They hold the storage voltage VERY well over 5 months.
