I am about halfway thru the build on one of these that was given to me by a friend. Feels good to build a kit again. It comes with 45 mm fans running on brushed motors. According to the booklet, it flew on 45 watts. I am looking for a modern set of fans that will give in the area of 150 to 200 watts on 2s 1000's or 3s 800s. On 2 s that makes it roughtly 10-12 amps, or 3s and 8 amps. I could probably make 50mm fans fit, but it would look a little better with 40's. The kit has vac formed nacelles so I have to incorporate the fans into them.
BTW, the instructions have you glue the fan housings directly to a piece of 3/32 balsa on edge, with a little bit of tri stock in the corners. The other end gets glued to the fuse. Gives an idea how little power an old brushed small setup made.
Anyone have any ideas to fans/motors?

You might want to re-post this here--
I don't think you will find much help on micro or mini fans here.
