Better fitting of your 3D printing for DragonLink and FF9

Hi all,

I decide to cut the bottom of the 3Dprinting and put instead an empty futaba module for better manoeuvrability, here are the pics of the mod. I add my FPVkiwi CW module for 4 extra channel on the FF9 (12 now).

Sorry guys, progress is being made. But it is slow. I must apologise for the futaba modules that have shipped out. The radio I used to design them from is an older model. And the latest units have shrunk their module slot by 0.3mm in recent times. The print files have been modified to accommodate the latest futaba radios.

Also. If you want a custom spacing on the DL module (its currenty @ 20deg to the radio, as close as it'll go to duck the antenna under the top bar) I can expand by (I think) up to 50mm.

Head to www.dragonlabs.eu I shipped 15 black cases to mike yesterday. They'll show up in his store today. I know he already had 5 black cases on back order to France so get the order in quick :P.

what are you looking for? wanna doodle me a picture/send motor spec (size, screw spacing's/type (m2,m3,m4 etc...)? and ill see if I have any free time.

Update on the keychain case, case is done, just working the kinks out of the locking mechanism that'll attach them to all other mounts. lots of prototyping involved, and free time is pretty limited atm...

Don't worry, I'm still here. Ill try to do a redux version of the keychain mount without my locking mechanism before the year is out as it wont take long to do this conversion. I'm still ironing out the bugs in the locking mechanism. It currently has a breaking point of 12Kg. Having figured out the average weight of your average plane (I went with a skywalker loaded with a generous 4S setup and full OSD/telemetry gear), I worked out a crash at average dive speeds of 55Kph would require a minimum breaking strength of 24Kg. So I'm working out a solution.

Ill rework a lightweight case that will have a flat bottom that can be glued, or probably better, velcro'd into place, from the working model I have at the moment. Bear with me, the PM's generated from this thread lead me to completely clear my inbox every two weeks :P. Lots of requests and printing to be done.

The camera P&T mechanisms are coming along nicely as well. To add to the list on post #1, Im also doing a periscope type mount for cameras that will make for a super low profile system, for use in scale aircraft to replace a pilots head, or for tall thin airframes that don't have the space for a wide base. Also anyone looking to place their camera system under a security camera's polycarbonate dome for protection and aerodynamics/wet flying.

But as mentioned earlier, Im a commercial heating engineer by day, Keeping a third of central london's largest buildings warm is a seasonal and demanding job. Not to mention the proximity to christmas and the new year, Family commitments are springing up.

Do please bare with me. I love doing this side of the hobby! Since I got my 3D printer it has opened up literally hundreds of avenues of design. From camera mounts, structural reinforcement, decorative and aerodynamic covers and panels, moving linkages, protective cases, bespoke landing gear, multi rotor frame parts (and entire multi rotor frames), motor mounts and entire aircraft completely constructed from complex designs. I must of had more than 150 commissions just for the RC hobby alone, not to mention components completely unrelated to the hobby of all things that fly. This thread is certainly not dead, and I fully intend to keep it that way .

Good to hear from you but in my case (hope in most cases) all I need is the case with flat bottom and centered opening for macro lens and I am a very happy camper :-)
I'll take on the spot 4 cases :-)
Oh, were you able to get the cam working?
