Maiden:

Plane was built by Dave Sullivan. Let's just say that he does an impeccable job. Awesome / flawless. Set up is DLE-35 / 18X8 Mezlik / 6 inch Dubro Tundra Tires.

Dave needed to make some modifications for the DLE 35.

Plane is ballistic.

Always a little nervous on maidens. Maiden was smooth as can be. 2 clicks of trim. I plan to play with flaps (mixes) on Monday. Landing w/o flaps was absolutely no problem.

Beautiful plane.

This would really be appreciated. I want to use the same engine. I am also interested in your comments on how the DLE 35 performs on the PA18. Thanks.

Check the link below......it is partially a thread on Dave (Plane bender) building my plane.....quite a bit of commentary....+ some pics of mods. Link is hard to find via google so this will help

The DLE is flawless thus far...I set to factory settings.....& tweaked from there. Almost NO vibration. More than enough power....idles down very nice!! Plane is ballistic if you want it to be.

Hi All,

A couple of friends at my field have these beauties running Eflight 160s in them and they perform beautifully. They are getting ready to adapt floats to them for our April float fly - hence the upgrade in power.

They were having trouble with getting battery trays and the when they got them they were a little difficult to slip into the firewall.

So I made and modified some for them - even vector engraved their name in it for them.

Working on a 160 mount also. Slightly shorter to accommodate the longer motor.

Check them out!

Cheers!

Saito FA 182 TD Gas/Ignition-Mod

I donīt found something about a Gas/Ignition-Kit for the Saito FA 182 TD in the internet. So i asked a German specialist for help. Now its in his hands. And in four weeks or so, i get it back...converted to gas and ignition. He told me, the saito will run smoother, with a lower idle-speed and will take 50 % gas, as glow-fuel before. so at the end the 182 is much more expensive as the bigger brother..the FG 57. But this engine is to heavy for the PA-18 i think and it donīt will fit under the cowling without some modifications.
Four weeks...damn...the winter is gone in good old Germany right now...And i want to get the bird in the air....
Regards from Germany...
