It depends on your build whether you glue-in/stiffen the joints. Well, it should help a fraction but my view is that it is not absolutely necessary unless you are intending to do some really wild stunts.

Wonder if flying wires are for looks or actually needed?

At 66 I enjoy precision over speed, so no wild crazy stunts I could not keep up with! My thoughts are for normal flying the wires are more trouble than they are worth. Also more opportunity to catch one of them on somethnig!!

Do you use 3 or 4 cell battery!!

As mentioned I used a 4S battery pack. Precision flying is good. Let us know how you do

Had a few more flights since. This plane rocks on stock and gives a very good vertical climb. I would now catch the CG with a 5 degree or so nose tilt. Worked a treat

I don't believe this one is a 3D machine, more like "Reno Racer"

Mine is here and I will maiden next week

I am sad that this this thread seems to have died. I hoped it would take off like the HK Pitts thread and have a big following.

I was looking for a similar flying plane as my HK pitts but made of better foam and thought this would fit the bill. I'll be using 3S packs for now and see how she flys. I have only been an RC pilot for a little under a year and my poor pitts has paid the price for my inexperience including being in a multiple tall alder trees for 11 days around Christmas after not being able to turn in time in a strong tail wind when I came out of a loop. So many repairs that I'm sure most would have retired it before now but I love my sttiP. I hope I will have as much fun with my new Ultimate 10.

Flight time

On the recommended 1600 mAh 4s, what's the average flight time?

I have not flown mine yet, a GOOD thread would be nice!
Tim

Maidened today, took a couple of tries to get it in the air, had to go to low rates very twitchy. Flew very well with 1300 4 cell all the way forward plenty of speed.
I let it get too far out, hard to see with bright sun in prime flying area, dumb thumed it in and it was totaled. Will order another one. The only real issue is the type of foam used is very brittle. Have had much worse crashes with I believe EPO foam and a bit of glue and back in the air!
