Refurbishing the Motor Lifeboat

So I just got this Motor Lifeboat from ebay... and wow... It needs a lot of work and commitment to get it looking good again. I'm planning to refurbish it and sell it back out to someone who is looking for the boat at a reasonable price.

So far from what I know just looking at it and unpacking it for the last hour, nothing works... but there are lights supposedly wired through the main hatch. I couldnt get those to work...

The boat seems to be built from scratch or from a kit...

First thing Wednesday morning, I'm going to put on my hazmat suit and wash this thing up.

I'll put up pictures of every step I take as I refurbish this thing.

My target date for finishing this is early February.

Very nice ride. I've been looking at my 44' MLB and wondered where all the 47' MLB kits went to. Nice to see you trying to fix it up.

That's the old Midwest kit, produced from 1999 to about 2005.

the boat looks wayyyy better and promising after a hosedown!

Can you believe that for the first minute, that the water turned out to be brown? YUCK!

Wow! Big difference! Looking good already, I'm sure you know but make sure to let the boat dry out well before digging into it!

Looking at those 'before' photos, you may want to soak it in a vat of disinfectant for awhile too!

seriously... I was thinking about that... Im actually planning to use soap for my second wash. This was just a spray down to get the dust out.
I checked the interior... looks new.

I've got one of those, a great kit to build if you can find them. I have the manual if you happen to need one.

Its unlikely I'll need the manual, but I'll keep that in mind if I do need it. thanks.

so today I decided to work on the hatch... since I knocked the boat over TWICE today... ugh...
Once rushing to school (that made me ever more late to class) and again when I was driving to the hobby shop when this dumbass cut me off and I had to swerve a bit to the right which toppled the boat... damn soccer mom texting in Rav-4!

No damage... but more initiative to start fixing things.

I just realised, those side panels need to be replaced with properly measured panels...
