Also, with the above setup will i be able to lift and safely fly a Canon 5D? Anyone out here flying a 5D or similar?

what are the flight times are you guys getting with the above setup? are you using 2 6s 5000mah in parallel or just using one 6s 5000mah lipo?

I see that some people have used only the bottom motor plate to mount their motors, some have used both plate and mounted the the motor on the top plate. which is the correct method? Isnt it better if used by the latter method?

I sell the Vulcan frames but have not done any custom builds yet.
I have used the MT3515 motors in many builds-> http://www.z06tony.com/
http://www.youtube.com/user/modernso...e=results_main

And all have been setup on dual 5000mAh 6s batts with 14" Graupner props.

The motor mounts are 3mm thick so you dont really need top plates however some of my customers have been buying extra top plates and standoffs as it looks nicer.

Yes you will lift a 5D no problem.

the distance between the props are small, anyone think there'll be issues?
I see you received your frame.
That distance is fine.
Thats as close as you would want to go though.
What size props are those?
I see you are putting the ESC's in the arms for a cleaner look.
Looking good

Will it lift anything more than the 5D? Is the frame good and sturdy for an epic too?
Whats the heaviest anyone flying with the Vulcan 900s?

Adarsh

Vulcan 900mm Hexa with Z15 testing. I left the leg in the picture so you can see how little to no vibes these frames have.

I will post pics later of the retractable landing gear on it also.

Note: These are test videos so don't expect anything fancy. No smoke and mirrors in our videos.

You can save a tiny amount of weight by getting rid of one of the back legs.

Hi Adarsh.
For the extra few dollars/pounds I would go for the 1200mm as it looks like you will not get anything larger than a 12 inch prop on the 900. I suppose you could go X 8 coaxial.

Love the yank and bank testing style.
Look forward to hearing the details on the retracts.

Right now I have the Photohigher Retracts mounted on there and some other ones coming in a few weeks also.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow when I get back in the shop.

RE: Mounting Z15.

It is best to wait for Alex at Vulcan to release their own bracket for the Z15. They are testing it right now and should have it available very soon.

The VulcanUAV is my all time favorite frame "right now". It is simple in design, very few parts, strongest frame by far, affordable and super low vibration. Plus you can fold it up for transport if needed, its universal as far as adding to the stock frame plates to make it a Quad-Hexa-Octo etc. Also, Alex has some cool features in the pipeline.

In the end, letting products speak for themselves is what I like and what I like to carry.

I guess that is my sales pitch for today.

?
The reason i finalised on the 900 so it would be easy during travelling and hauling around. But if the 900 is going to take nothing more than a 12inch then i better get the 1200mm ones. I plan to use a 14 or a 15inch props.

Whats the heaviest camera or payload people have lifted with the Vulcan Octo?
Anyone here?

Regards,
Adarsh
