The model you have with it's modified Downeast style hull is something I would really love to build/have. I like your videos and how she runs. Very nice balance from what I can see. |

Thanks for your reply! ![]() I had a choice of several models that Mr. Lombardo ask me to pick from his shelves and as soon as I saw this one, it was a keeper! Mr. Lombardo told me it is the best running boat he had in his fleet. I am so happy with my 2nd Boat Project! Enjoying it on water and off water! ![]() By the way, I am in Tampa visiting my oldest daughter and I see you are very close! Had a Realized, I would have brought the boat so, you could have seen it in person! ![]() Perhaps next time

Yes, I am RC Airplane guy, however, as you can see, I am slowing (quickly
) getting into RC Boating side of the hobby.I might go to the Monster Planes, depending on what is going on with my schedule so, at present, I am not sure. I am "Planning" to attend the WATTFEST event South of Brandon, Florida. See: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1628429 http://triplecreekrc.com/events/even...comes-to-tcrc/ Carlos

Thank goodness for someone who gave me free Standard size servos and the same brand such that I could use the Arms!! What a difference! The other thing I am presently doing is trying to locate the maker of the Gearbox as I just noticed lots of uneven spin of the Spur Gear (deformed) and creating some vibrations. Presently attempting to replace the Spur Gear. Carlos

Current Draw Measurements of the Brushed Geared Speed 600!
Guys,
You might think I am a nut, however, I filled UP my BATH Tub and placed the Coast Guard Rescue RC Model in the water and started her UP! ![]() Used two (2) 3-Cell, Turnigy 3-Cell, 2200mAH, 25C, Li-POLY connected in Parallel and carefully measured the current Draw demand in static form. ![]() The Results: 1/4 Throttle: 2.5 AMPs 1/2 Throttle: 4.5 AMPs Full Throttle: 20 AMPs 3/4 Reverse: 13 AMPs As you can see the AMP draw is no where linear and at High Throttle that Speed Propeller takes effect and makes this little boat into a speed demon. ![]() Here is the Video!

Lessons Learned from Bath Tub Run - Current Measurements
Guys,
A few items that really bothered me during the Current Measurements while the model was in the Bath Tub. Ordinarily, one does not see the actual workings of the Power System while it is in water since the model is covered and moving away from you. Well, last night I had the opportunity to really watch and hear the power system and concluded the following: 1. The "No-Name" gearbox had to go since spare parts just could not be found and because the Gearbox Spur Gear was really worn and it vibrated the entire assembly at moderate speeds and including high RPMs. 2. I looked all over my hobby drawers and found a brand new Airplane Gearbox known as the Electrifly (Great Planes) GD-600 and I believe it is the 2.5:1 ratio. 3. The Rudder travel was fixed as reported earlier using a new Rudder Servo Arm and located the push rod assembly at a farther hole and that did the trick. A few pictures of the new GD-600 Gearbox with the Stock Brushed 600 size motor. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Installed the NEW PINION Gear that came with the GD-600 Gearbox: ![]() Carefully adjusted the Gearbox Mess:
