I think some of the folks are confused to see the flash and baro chip on the pcb. Lilvinz's wiki post does not call for any other components to be added to the F3 board. I am guessing you are adding those based on the study of original CC3D. The question is though, will Vinz add support for these chips in his compiled binaries? Or, will the currently available compiled binaries run without any interference from these chips. My knowledge is limited on this.

My actual shield silkscreen layout! Done with Diptrace.

Added pull-up resistors for I2C and SPI interfaces for future use.

I'll send the top and bottom layer layouts when I'm sure it's working.

I love the effort that you are putting into this board design. I do find it confusing however that you name your file STM32F3 while the wiring is for the F4 board. The wiring for these 2 boards are not compatible.

Therefore it would be more logical to rename the file and post it in the F4 tread.


Meanwhile I am discovering that making a good board design is very time consuming. I am going to call it a day for now. Below are some images of my first attempt. Take it easy with me, it's still in the works

Who say that my Board is wired for the F4 ??? The wires are for F3 Discovery!

I did not check all the pins, so I guess I made a mistake on that one.

Is there a reason that you shuffled the PWM out ports? The order is different than on the pin assignment in the wiki?

You are right, there are 3 mistakes with the PWM out.

Why did you add the flash data chip, if there is no need (yet) on the F3?

I have seen it on all OP Schematics. So I added it. Must not be placed but could.

By the way, where to find the new OP revolution schematics?

why not U-Batt?
or,
LIPO monitoring?
why not standalone 5V voltage converter ? LF50

The board can be powered externally from the PWRSEL2 pins (5V and 3V).

You're saying me that I need to add a voltage regulator after ther external power supply pins so I can connect the LIPO battery directly to power the board? For the case of the BEC power there is no need.

Adding this circuit to the board will increase its size and I can't increase it much more... So you can add one of those above if you want.

Is it possible to design the board so that it's about the same size as the f3Discovery?

I've downloaded DipTrace to give it a try but I'm a software guy, never tried to design a pcb.


I like where you are taking this JoergSH be really cool if we can get revo running with gps for ~$30
