Had 3 kits that didn't have a FG fuse. Got carried away and made a couple extra. There 90- 95% perfect, and 1000% better than stock. New tail fin, Carbon inlay, and 1/8" ply inlayed at the wing root. Made wth West Marine 105 epoxy. Contact me via PM for details.

Is that a Sagitta 900 fuselage between the Aquila plugs? What do you have in store for that?

Sure is, you don't see very many of them around anymore. I just finished the tail and filling in the seems. Will go to paint Monday. Start the mold next week.

How much are you asking for the sagitta? What would it take to lengthen the nose in order make an E version? Maybe a 480 motor? It tended to be a little tail heavy.

Airbrush and syphon style touch up gun. Randolph's Dope for color and clear coat. I was aiming for a Fender Stratocaster Sunburst effect. I haven't quite got it yet but it's getting closer. I love the old woody's look of the 30's era gliders with natural wood clear coating. Old school, like me!

The bottom pic is of my Marks Model "Windward".

The ships plan sheet lists the drawing date at: 1969.

This is my second Windward, finished just a few months ago. Though, I repaired the first one many times. I built the first in 1972 and flew it until I lost it in 2009.

Buried the old gal at sea. (another story for another time) We had a good run together. I had many days of accumulated flight time on her. I did kinda feel "Widowed" that day. Like I lost an old friend.

So, this one at number two is taking up some of the loss of number one. Both have been a blast to fly. Just about any design today will out perform it. But so what! It just feels good to fly. It feels "right" to me when I'm flying it. Never let me down. Old school is all the performance I need.

And anyway, the older I get, the better I was!

The Windward was the predecessor to the "Windfree", another Mark Smith design. And also a great old woody flyer.
