What 3D plane for 6s 4000mAh Lipo ?? - Page 2

I see there are a lot of votes for 60"ish planes and 70"ish planes. I'm glad to see you're getting one of each. In my experience there is a noticeable difference in feel even between a 60" plane and a 70" plane. The larger planes definitely feel bigger and more solid in the air and are a little easier to 3D. They also handle wind much better.

It might be a little while. One will be an Xmas present, and the other will be birthday later in the new year.

Hi Daniel... Just bought the 64" MXS. Can't wait to fly it... Can I ask how long flight times with the 4000's??

Congratulations! You'll love it!

I'm getting abour 6 minutes on my 4,000s, but I'm very heavy on the throttle. You should be able to get at least 7 minutes of regular 3D with those.

I use gens ace 25c 4000 may and cut it close with my timer set at 6:50...by close I mean I have landed and my cells were at about 3.3. But that was when I was whipping around WOT.

What motor are you using and how long would a hard flight last?

A5012L.

I've killed the battery at five minutes. it's a lot of fun, especially in dead calm, but I would want a few heavier packs as well.

I fly my 71-in slick on 6s4000 gens ace, it is wicked floaty. Not so hot in wind. The slick is usually set up with 6s5000's and I fly those in it most of the time. It handles wind ok at that weight. A 64-in MXS would be on the heavier/high energy side. I have that too and fly it w/4s4000. I'm not good enough to fly decent 3d with a heavier set-up. (yet)
