Finally, here's the CD-ROM motor up close, with the 30 tiny neos I just received from George at Engineered Concepts. I just ordered them Friday, and had them in my hands today! I plan to use them with my smaller 22mm version from earlier posts.

He did a number of posts on larger stators. The search is only 200 messages at the time, brilliant , not my idea of a search, you have to press 'next' repeatedly.Groeten ;-) Ron |

Looks like we could have a winner! Dopplewhopper, anyone? I just need to pull off all of that tape from previous windings, clean the stator, and paint it with clear nail polish.
Tony Turley PS: Hey, Ron. I don't know much about the theory behind these things. Is it possible to have a 9-pole stator and 15-pole drum? IIRC, there was something buried deep in one of these threads saying the magnet poles have to be a multiple of 3 if using a 9-pole stator. |

Tony, you don't need much theory in this case, 15 is an odd number, the number of magnetpoles must be even for symmetry/balance reasons. Otherwise, somewhere on the ring, you would end up with two neighbouring magnets having the same polarity.
The stator has to have 3,9,12,etc. teeth because we use 3-phase controllers. Were we using 5-phase controllers, the number of teeth should be a multiple of 5. |

Three magnetsizes available at http://www.aircraft-world.com:
http://aircraft-world.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=30 Magnets can be combined into bigger magnetpoles (cascading, length- and/or breadth-wise). Groeten, Ron |

My first rewind motor (original magnet) was sucessful, Amazing it actually works!!
The mount made from the weld nut (or T NUT)really works great! So far the only problem seems to be with my Jetti controller if you try to accelerate too fast the controller shuts down, but if you increase speed slowly it works great, anyone have any thoughts on this.. link to more pictures http://www.fototime.com/inv/ED864A1A51BEC93 Carl |
