And shes safe!!

Ok so here is the update...

Treggon and Mike hiked into the canyon with me on the mission to get my quad back....I was all prepared with my custom retrieval pole from home depot...we get to the crash site and im looking up to where the quad was the day before...

Well it wasnt there!! damn...all is not lost though...i just happened to look to my right and up just a bit and what do ya know.....there she is hanging at EYE LEVEL!!

I was so damn stoked that all i had to do was reach up a few feet and grab her down...

So im sure the burning question everyone has is what the damage report is...
So both my flight battery and fpv battery are a total loss...voltage was too low and my charger didnt like that....
The clover leaf and sma connector for the Vtx got ripped off and i didnt want to go through the 2 feet or so of dead leaves looking for it...probably would've only found a lot spiders and ticks...easily replaced.
2 broken props...

Everytthing else is in once piece and seems to be in working order...gonna plug in a fresh battery here in a few and test my naza to make sure it is still good to go...should be though....

Ok and here are some pics...still need to go through the video so i will have that up later.

Spent all afternoon teaching 4 teens how to fly at SEFSD. Had a hoot.

On another note, I want to get into quads. Ideally mini sized (around 300-500 mm).

I have zero experience with quads.

Anyone have a good link?

Recommend a controller in particular?

Thanks.

Do you have an idea of what you want to spend?...are you going to fpv it? What kind of flying do you plan doing with the quad?

I use the Naza flight controller and love it...i have 2 of them..i also have a KK2 fc which is only 30 bucks from hobby king and that is a pretty fun board...very stable and it doesn't require a computer to tune.

As for the quad itself...there are so many frames out there...also..you can always make your own frame using stuff from home depot....that would be the cheapest way to go on the frame and you bash it then you won't feel bad since you didn't spend a lot...

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes I want to FPV it as a simple photo ship. Nothing fancy...stability is key. A self leveling function would be nice.

As well, I'm thinking of using it as my travel rig a bit more convenient than my easy star.

This controller ok?

Again thanks

That is the KK2 and the same one i have...for learning i would say its a nice little board...i wouldnt say it has the best auto level...you may want to hop on the KK2 thread and read through the first couple of pages ....

If you are willing to spend a little bit of money the naza is a good fc like i said....and if you really want ...i have that extra one id be willing to sell if you are interested...its everything you want in an FC...but let me know,,

if it would help make up your mind we could meet up and you could test fly my quad with my other naza on it....

but if you are trying to stay on semi lite budget...then the kk2 is good...
