Next time bring your plane and toss it in the air. Just keep it within the posted field boundary. I was out there slipping those trees in the outfield the last go around. It was giving people a thrill when I would dip behind the tree line.

I'll probably venture out there around 3pm or so.

dude...the launch spot is perfect...just a bunch of dirt tiers where they started to develope but never finished. you have that whole valley to have fun in!!

the only downside is you either rish getting a ticket parking at the gate there where its posted No Parking...or park at the school and walk your gear up the hill or park up at Black Mtn Community park and walk down.

either way its a trek...

the other spot is right at the top of a dirt/rock hill that is super flat at the top and it looks down into the valley there....ive flown from up there before and its pretty rad...all you gotta do is park at the park and walk up the slope since its right there.

IMHO try before you buy. I renewed my AMA membership and then went down to SEFSD. I wanted to get a feel for it before paying $45 and joining. I really like the view of the bay and the openness of the area.
  • You MUST be a AMA meber to fly there. Not getting around this...
  • Read the rules before you go out there so you know what's up.
  • There are Rule / Membership "Nazi's" out there on the weekend. Not so much on the afternoons or during the week. Considering their own members can't remember to shut the gate.....
  • Fly within the flight boundary and no one will say a thing. They might mention that ScrtSqrl and I fly out there.
  • Just grab one of the guys out there and ask them to spot for you. They'll probably stay back at their lawn chair. If GA comes into the area they'll ask you to hit the deck.

Seems like 50 something dollars is a lot of money for a magazine subscription.
