1st step is to epoxy all the blind nuts in.
Please note this is a kit I had sitting for a while for this build so the blind nuts were not installed.

ALL CarbonCore frames purchased from Rc-Drones will come with the blind nuts already installed in the arms.

Next step is to mark the motor wires since they are not color coded.

Then I mount the motors to the motor plates and then togeather using the standoffs.

I also cut off the bullet connectors and mounted the prop adapters to the motors.

Next I mount the motors/mounts to the arms.
Then I install the 4 long standoffs to the top of the bottom plate.
After that I install 6 short standoffs to the bottom of the bottom plate for the dual battery trays

Hi, watching your build with interest. I am planning a similar build. The objective is maximum stability / long flight time for Aerial Photography in windy conditions.

I get what you say about X8 but I can only afford Nazza + gps / in Y6 for now. I presume X8 is not just a quad with 2 motors on each leg.

I have a Sony NEX 5 , so payload should not be an issue.

What if any difference is there between Wooking and Nazza in terms of stability?
Does anyone use the Nazza to stabilise a gimbal successfully?
Do you have any reasonable cost + good performance gimbal + stabiliser suggestions?

Thanks

Tony,

What do those Tiger motors weigh? Are they heavy?
Nice build.

Tony -hello. Couple of questions re: your Y6 build. How much does boom length impact the stability during flight? I see everything from 650 mm all the way up to 1200 mm. Obviously a larger frame allows for larger props Which with the right motor/esc combo could provide much more lift for heavier applications. Do you ever build with lower pancake-style kv motors with larger props (good idea or bad for heavier lift)?

Regarding flight times, I currently run a MK Octo with 770 kv motors and 11 x 4.7 apc props. I know it not an ideal efficient set- up, but with a single 4s 4400 25c battery I'm getting 15.5 minutes flight time with a GoPro2 and everything is cool to touch when I land. I'm flying very simple and soft patterns for real estate. I've read many posts indicating for long term battery life, it's best to not run above 80% of battery capacity. Since I'm only running singles, I typically run 90-93% capacity and have run the math. Yes, I decrease over all battery life by about 20-23%, but based on my frequency of paying jobs, it's easier to just get new batteries every few months. That was an easy business decision. I'm planning on switching over to Vislero 4s 6600 flat batteries to save space. I will post the results once I get them.

You can run an X8 as a quad and split the motor signals to run 8 motors but I use all 8 motor outputs.
Not sure if there is a big difference in stability between a WKM and Naza.
I feel the WKM has better camera stabilization and will soon have the OSD and 5.8 TX/RX option.
Yes I have used a Naza to stabilize in many builds I have done.

Sorry I do not ship International but check with Gary on the AG550-NX V2 gimbal if it will work for you.
It is my favorite gimbal right now.
He ships International.

Thanks,

They are heavy and weigh almost double what the Avrotos weigh.
They weigh 189g.
