Question
OS 95 or 1.20?

Iím either going to get a new OS 1.20 or a OS 95. for the 9lbs. Edge 540 Iím building.
Is there a big difference in fuel consumption between the two engines.
Thanks

Grip, how about some sound late advice, when in doubt, pick more cubic inches, it works every time.

The OS 95 is still only around in small numbers but all the tests say it is a fine engine . Check the weight difference . If your plane winds up tail heavy , the added weight of a bigger lump may be OK . It the plane is already nose heavy weight may be a detriment. Bigger engines often shake a bit more as well as the requirement for a heavier fuel load . Some planes fly well "on the wing" others make better use of a bit more power . The Edge can probably make good use of more power so long as the weight/balance issues are resolved first .

Sometimes it takes a bit more than 24 hours for people to offer advice . It is free after all .

I just got a new OS 95v the other day and based on the manual it should be pretty good on fuel consumption. The manual states that a 10oz tank should last 12-15 min. However, if I had a 9lb Edge 540 I would go with the 120.

Never had any experience with the 95s, but I do have one of the older pre-fix 91s. I stuck a .46 needle vavle on it 4 months ago and now it it starts on the first spin witht the starter every time. It will pull my 60 size u-can-do vertical all day.
However, It refuses to run on anything I have tried but a 14-8 prop. That is the magical ticket, it seems.
